Hello Taborvilla Families,

 

I hope you all are having a wonderful summer. As summer comes to an end and kids get ready to go back to school, we at Taborvilla are getting ready for our fall ball developmental season. Fall ball is a shorter seasonvthan Spring (only 8 weeks) & there is only one weekday practice and one Sunday game per week. It starts at the beginning of September and runs through the end of October. We hope you will consider signing your player up if you haven’t already. It is a great opportunity for any youth to play the game & develop their skills in our mild fall weather. Fall Ball registration closes Sunday, August 25th.

 

The Taborvilla board of directors did some terrific work behind the scenes during the Spring season and we are excited to continue during the offseason with your help. There are two meetings coming up that I’d like to bring to your attention:

1. Last regular board meeting of the 2023-24 season: September 17th from 6-8 pm at Flying Pie Pizza in Montavilla.  We’d like to invite everyone to attend our last board meeting of the season. We have some turnover on the board going into the 2024-25 season and we need new volunteers to fill important positions. This meeting will specifically address open positions and their duties. There is no pressure to join the board or take a position, it is purely informational and is a great way to gain insight into how the league operates. We will provide pizza for all attendees.

    

2. Annual Meeting of the Members: October 6th from 6-8 pm at Stark Street Pizza in Montavilla. Our annual meeting is where our members elect a board of directors and the board then elects officers to run our league for the upcoming season. Another email will be sent with more information prior to this meeting.

 

Lastly, I am excited to announce “Project T-ball”! We are going to improve the playing conditions and player experience at the Taborvilla Tee Ball field this offseason. The who and how is yet to be determined and we could use your help figuring it out. This is our most important board meeting of the year. We rely on our members & volunteers (that’s you!) to help guide the direction of the league by electing a new board of directors each year.
